My favorite places for winter fun

Sullivan County is a great place for winter fun! Now that there is snow on the ground, sledding/skiing/snowboarding/tubing hills like Arrowhead and Morningside are exciting places again.

Public lands like Moody Park in Claremont, the Cornish Town Forest, the Newport Town Forest, the Plainfield Ledges, Sullivan County Trails in Unity, and Up on the Hill Conservation Area in Charlestown are great places for snowshoe hikes, cross country skiing, fat tire biking, and tracking animals.

When the ice is frozen, there a many ponds for ice skating, ice fishing, hockey, and even some winter pickleball games. Some towns create ice rinks for public use as well.

Outdoor recreation is good for our body and minds all year round. So plan to get outside and play this February at one of your favorite local spots and don't forget to invite all your friends to play with you!

We often give away free cider at the Claremont Chili Fest the first weekend in October at the Visitor's Green. Come see us there!
