Wandering Stars
The first stargazers called anything that was lit up in the night sky a star. The word star comes from the Latin word “Stella” which means “to shine.” So the word star included planets, the moon, galaxies and what we call stars today. Ancient peoples observed these objects and as time went by they noticed that some of the stars were “fixed in the sky” and some of them “wandered”. Years and years of watching these movements and recording them led to the creation of the calenda
