

Bicycling with Butterflies
A dear friend of mine got me this fantastic book by Sara Dykman, a monarch enthusiast who rode her bicycle along the migration route of the monarch butterfly. She had to ride many miles a day to keep up with them. I was amazed by the people she met, the adventures she shares of biking across the country, excited to learn new facts about monarchs, and encouraged to hear how many talks she did along the way. Spring Migration Begins
Although we are currently experiencing our usual bouts with false spring in the Northeast, places further south are starting to see spring migration unfold. According to reports on Journey North, hardy spring wildflowers are pushing up out of the ground and monarchs and other butterflies have been sighted along the gulf coast.
