Are you prepared?

To view the Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024?

Viewing a solar eclipse, especially a total solar eclipse is an amazing experience, but the sun is bright and therefore it's important to know how to keep your eyes safe while veiwing this celestial phenomenon.

See the National Park Service 'How to View a Solar Eclipse Safely' web page for important information on how to do so.

The most common way to protect your eyes is by purchasing eclipse glasses. Make sure you buy from a reputatable source. Here are a couple I know of:  Sky & Telescope and the Astronomical Society of the Pacific

Information on Eclipse glasses can be found at the American Astronomical Society.

The March edition of Get Outside and Learn Enews includes many solar eclipse related resources and information. Enjoy!
