Tolerant of dry sites, but prefers wet areas along streams and ponds. Fruit persists through fall. Flowers in small, flat clusters dull white blooming in late May to early June. Used as a screen, shrub border, soil stabilizer, most useful for red stem color in winter. The fruit is food for many birds. Zone 2.
