Ellis Bitter

  • Early Fall. Medium bittersweet cider apple Developed by a Mr. Goddard of Boisguillaume, Rouen, France in the 1860s. Large conic fruit, sometimes ribbed,  striped and blushed with red. White-fleshed, sweet, crisp and juicy. Soft, astringent, tannin. seful for its early ripening, adding valuable bitterness to early-season cider pressings. Blend with other early dessert apples or cider varieties.
